Our practices our interdisciplinary. Rooted in traditional kundalini, kriya and karma yoga as well as universal energy practices (including multiple reiki lineages and Sat Nam Rasayan). Sound healing protocols are also employed.
Our interdisciplinary approach reflects the understanding that no single system offers a complete map of the human being. Different traditions, practices and perspectives may illuminate different dimensions of our physical, energetic, emotional, relational, creative and spiritual experience. Our work may also draw from somatic practice, breathwork, qigong, reflective inquiry and contemporary approaches to human development.
We encourage curiosity, discernment and embodied understanding rather than adherence to a single fixed philosophy or belief system. These practices are approached as complementary tools that may be explored individually or together according to the needs, experiences and intentions of the practitioner.
Our practices are designed to increase vitality, creative energy, radiance, self-empowerment, flexibility, strength and keep-up-spirit, with self-actualization and conscious connection being the primary goal.
Our practices are trauma informed, focused on whole-self integration, deep transformation and recovery from the primal wounds that have shifted our connection to soul and spirit. This whole-self approach recognizes that human experience is not confined to a single dimension. Practice may engage the body, nervous system, emotions, attention, relationships, creativity, meaning and subtle experience while honoring the individuality of each person's history and process.
Trauma-informed practice at Kriyatech includes respect for personal agency, clear communication, predictable structures, appropriate choice, and attention to physical and emotional boundaries. Students are encouraged to work within their own capacity, request modifications, rest when needed, and participate in ways that support their own sense of safety and integrity.
We also recognize that trauma does not arise only from individual experiences. Displacement, discrimination, loss, threats to safety, identity and belonging, social instability and other lived realities may affect how a person enters practice and what they need in order to feel supported. We strive to create environments in which students are treated with dignity, their privacy is respected, and participation is never dependent upon suppressing meaningful aspects of who they are.
We are open to all. We believe the healing of self leads to healing all else. We believe healing is a socially radical, inclusive act. We strive to be the change we want to see & continue to believe that cultivating inner peace is a potent part of cultivating communal peace.
Kriyatech regards spaces gathered for practice as sanctuary spaces. Those who enter them are entitled to dignity, privacy, belonging and the opportunity to practice without intimidation, harassment or fear.
We understand that some members of our community may carry very real concerns about discrimination, surveillance, displacement, targeting, separation from family or community, and threats to personal safety. We do not regard those concerns as separate from spiritual practice or community responsibility.
Kriyatech will not willingly participate in the targeting, intimidation, harassment or dehumanization of the people who practice with us. We will use the means available to us to protect the privacy, safety and dignity of our students and to resist unnecessary intrusion into spaces created for healing, reflection and community.
For us, resilience is not passive. Resistance IS resilience. Cultivating strength, self-knowledge, nervous-system capacity and inner authority helps people remain present to themselves and to one another in circumstances that may seek to diminish our connection.
A sanctuary is not simply a quiet room. It is a commitment to the humanity of the people gathered within it. Where possible we believe in aligning with philosophies of permanculture and mutual aid.
Kunda Cairn brings more than three decades of metaphysical study and experience in applied Kundalini technologies, energy work, sound healing, and the exploration of consciousness as a spiritual cornerstone. Her first love remains the vastness of kundalini yoga.
Cairn has practiced energy work since the late 1980s and has been engaged with sound-healing modalities since the early 1990s. She completed her ministerial studies in 2007 and earned her CYT-200 in 2008. Since that time, she has worked therapeutically with groups and individuals, originally offering her work under the name Uncoil Buffalo.
Cairn began training meditation facilitators in 2015. In 2017, after studying multiple Reiki lineages, she became a certified Interdisciplinary Reiki Master Teacher. Since then, she has trained Reiki and energy arts practitioners, and sound healers. She has also been contracted to help other teachers develop curricula for themed classes, workshops, and retreats.
In 2020, Cairn completed the five-year process of earning her CYT-500, deepening her study of the humanistic and humanological dimensions of yogic wisdom and eastern psychology. Cairn has maintained a commitment to continued learning and sharing. She is constantly refining her skills.
After serving her community during Covid-19, Cairn began a two-and-a-half-year teaching sabbatical in 2022 in order to focus on her family and personal revival. During that period, she consolidated decades of study, personal practice, professional experience, curriculum development, and teaching to complete the Kriyatech™ Integrated Therapeutic Teacher Training. The first cohort launches in 2026.
